Trusted medication information

About Medication Simplifier

We believe every patient deserves to understand what they're taking. Our AI-powered tools translate complex medical language into words anyone can understand.

Our Mission

Prescription labels were not designed for patients — they were designed for pharmacists. They're filled with Latin abbreviations, medical shorthand, and tiny text that's hard to read even when you know what the words mean.

We built Medication Simplifier because prescription confusion is a real public health problem. Studies show that nearly half of patients misunderstand their medication instructions, leading to missed doses, accidental overdoses, and preventable hospitalizations.

Our goal is simple: make every prescription understandable in under 60 seconds, for free, on any device — no login required.

How It Works

1

You provide the input

Paste text from your prescription label, discharge summary, or drug leaflet — or upload a photo.

2

AI reads it

We send your input to Claude, Anthropic's AI model, which understands medical language and context.

3

You get plain English

Results are formatted into clear cards: what the drug does, how to take it, side effects, and warnings.

4

Always verify

Our results are a starting point — always confirm with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.

The AI Behind It

Medication Simplifier uses Claude by Anthropic, one of the most capable and safety-focused large language models available. Claude is trained to communicate in clear, plain language and to be transparent about uncertainty.

We instruct Claude to respond at an 8th-grade reading level, to never recommend changing your prescribed dose, and to always remind users that AI output is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

Claude's vision capability also allows it to read prescription labels and pill bottle photos directly, which is useful when the text is hard to type out or the label is only available as an image.

Privacy & Your Data

We do not store any prescription information you enter. Your text or images are sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's API, processed to generate a response, and never saved on our servers — because we don't have any servers.

Medication Simplifier is a fully static website. There is no database, no user accounts, and no analytics that track what you type. Your Anthropic API key is saved only in your own browser's local storage and is never transmitted to us.

For Anthropic's own data handling policies, see anthropic.com/privacy.
